Winter Weddings in Big Bear

Snow, access, warmth, and the photographs you cannot get any other time of year.

Does the property stay open in winter?

Yes. Sunstone runs year-round. Winter is one of the four genuine seasons here and the photographs are unlike anything a summer date produces. Snow sits in the Jeffrey pine and the whole property goes quiet.

Where does everyone stay warm?

Every one of the four cabins has a wood-burning fireplace and an in-bath jacuzzi tub. The Lodge has indoor gathering space for the full group. Evening heating is part of the standard structures package for outdoor portions.

What about access in the snow?

Big Bear is a functioning mountain town with a ski economy, so the roads are plowed and maintained through the season. We advise guests on conditions ahead of the date and coordinate arrival timing.

Is a winter date cheaper?

Winter and spring are the least booked seasons, which usually means better availability on the date you actually want. Ask us about specific dates rather than assuming a season is out of reach.
